At Maton, we are proud of our reputation for making high quality products. That reputation has been hard won over the six decades during which we have been in business.

Regrettably, we have become aware that from time to time, guitars labelled with the MATON brand - but which are not genuine Maton products - are being offered for sale over the Internet and from outlets in various countries around the world. We have also become aware that on occasion, such counterfeit products are offered for sale from web sites where - after a consumer has ordered the goods and paid for them - the goods ordered are never delivered, and soon after the purchase is made, the web site may be removed from the Internet, leaving no ability for the consumer to recover any funds outlaid. In yet other cases, the goods ordered are delivered, but they are counterfeit, and are invariably of inferior quality to genuine MATON products.

These activities have nothing to do with us, but we nonetheless condemn them. They prey on the unsuspecting, and are designed to cause hurt and disappointment.

We nonetheless wish to draw the existence of these activities to your attention, so that you avoid ordering or buying products that bear our name, but which are not genuine.

Help us to identify any sources of fake MATON products

We do not take kindly to anyone who offers goods for sale that bear our good name, but where the goods do not originate from us.

Counterfeiting is an international problem that affects not only manufacturers of quality products, but also people who buy fake goods or those who want to buy the real thing. This problem is of concern to us, as a manufacturer of products that have a strong reputation, and which are keenly sought after by our many fans.
