AMAC 2008

AMAC 2008This year AMAC in Melbourne got off to a flyer with the much anticipated Maton Guitars product clinic as well as unveiling the Australian Made Award winning - W.A.May Custom Shop guitar and the 50th Anniversary Mastersound.

Our good friend Diesel treated a packed house to a devastating live set and then answered plenty of questions about the Mini Maton’s and his unique live sound...

W.A. May Custom ShopThe clinic attracted many delegates to the Maton stand where they could see for themselves the beautifully crafted W.A.May Custom shop guitar. Made from fine Australian timbers, the W.A May is a fitting tribute to the late Bill May that encapsulates 63 years of guitar making excellence, as well as baring the original Bill May designed headstock.

\Also this year Maton marked 50 Years since the introduction of the Mastersound with the stunning MS500/1958 50th Anniversary Mastersound.

Throughout our history, Mastersounds have found their way into the hands of players like George Harrison & the Easybeats. The Mastersound was also the first electric guitar that Tommy & Phil Emmanuel owned.

Moer recently it has been played by Ben Harper, Queens of the Stone Age, Grinspoon, Shihad, Spearhead, Kisschasy as well as many other prominent recording artists. And today the Mastersound continues to capture the imagination of serious artists who shy away from mainstream guitar brands. For these artists the weapon of choice is the MS500.

So it’s with great pride we unveil the reissue of the 1958 Masterpiece...
