At Maton Guitars, we continue to enjoy a lifelong love affair with Australian native timbers. Throughout our 63 year history we have developed, refined and mastered the use of Australian native timbers to create world class instruments that have earned our company a reputation as the World’s leading authority on native tone woods, as well as one of the World’s finest guitar makers.
Maton craftsman and Melbourne Artist, Michael O’Dwyer is one of many of our talented staff members who share our love for native timber and detail. We are proud to support his debut solo exhibition “Simple Gifts”. His series of sculptural wall hangings, small collectables and contemporary furniture design celebrate his love for Australian timber. With materials collected from all over the country Michael’s work displays this precious resource at its most stunning.
Not only will these works please your sense of sight, touch and even smell, but Michael's work uncovers a narrative of history, landscape and place.
We encourage all who have a passion for timber to attend.
