Rob & Harv's Blog

Rob Sawyer and Harv Scholes head off to cycle 15,000kms around Australia, on an enviromentally friendly, musical touring adventure!

Two mates, a coupla push bikes, a passion for music and adventure, and 15,000kms of cycling ahead of them. What a mission!!

Melbourne independent musician Rob Sawyer and good mate Harv Scholes will be taking the idea of the troubadour musician to the next step. On the 13th of February they will embark on a 4-month national tour of Australia, cruising from town to town by Bicycle.

The will to seek adventure and inspiration, as well as frustration with the financial issues of independent music touring led to the idea of riding a bike around Australia. Carrying all supplies and travelling self sufficient, Sawyer will deliver his acoustic tunes in major cities and regional towns.

Promoting sustainability, the tour cuts out the carbon emissions of another car completing a loop around the country, and cuts out flights from city to city.

On their travels, Sawyer and Scholes would also like to spread the word about keeping Australia clean and beautiful.

“During my training rides on the east coast of Australia, I couldn’t believe the amount of rubbish along the roadside. I thought the days of people chucking their empty drink bottles and food wrappers out of the car window were long gone, but obviously not. People need to wake up to the fact that their laziness is contributing to the damage of our beautiful Australia.” Sawyer said.

So help make riding around the country for a good cause worth while. Show the boys some encouragement and come along to a show. Tour dates so far have been posted, and there will be more to come if all goes well.

You will be able to stay in touch with the latest stories and photos from the bike tour by visiting their blog site, So stay tuned for more details to come.
