Although we have no formal relationship with John, he is an admirer of our guitars and he himself said the BB1200 inspired him to write several songs for his new album “Revival” at a time when his creative juices were running low...

In March 2008 Maton attended Musikmesse 2008 with some special guests... Let's just say that it went well and a good time was had by all!

This the fourteenth year the festival has presented the Artist of The Year Award. The award is a handcrafted Maton guitar EA80C valued at $3,389 and made out of Otway rescued timbers. This year the guitar is awarded to legendary Melbourne musician Mick Thomas.

Josh Homme of “Queens Of The Stone Age” who has already played guitars from the Maton-Mastersound-Series, suggested to develop the BB1200, mainly because he wanted an alternative guitar with more attack and the richest sustain. Inspired by this, Maton, in close cooperation with Josh created the semi acoustic model BB1200, and dedicated its name to the American power rocker. He called his first light blue model Betty Blue. It was love from the first strum, an untouchable love that is often being looked at with great suspicion by some women. For instance, Jeff Beck's first wife confronted her husband towards the end of their marriage with the final question: It's either the guitar or me? Jeff's comment: “you can have three guesses who has to start packing”

Keith Urban has won his 2nd Grammy Award last night beating artists including Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson to take "Best Male Country Vocal Performance".
