Inspirational BB1200

John Fogerty - RevivalThose that visit our web site regularly, would already know that John Fogerty is an admirer and proud owner of several Maton Guitars.

As he is so aptly described in Harold Steinblatt's interview for Guitar World, John Fogerty is without a doubt the King of Swamp Rock.  He is the creative genius and unmistakable voice behind Creedence Clearwater Revival, and his contribution as a song writer is legendary.

He has just released his latest masterpiece “REVIVAL” and during an interview for Guitar World he had this to say about his brand new BB1200...

John Fogerty“I started writing in my studio just after New Year's Day, working 8 hours a day for about a month.

And that firsts months' worth of songs were just pretty dreadful, totally pedestrian.

But things changed, thanks to a wonderful hollowbody Humbucker (model BB1200) guitar built by an Australian Company, Maton, that I got toward the end of last year.

The first time I picked it up I write Broken down cowboy The first really good thing I came up with. And the next song I wrote, also on the Maton, was Gunslinger .

Those two really triggered things for me and after I had got together a basketful of pretty good tunes, I picked up the Maton again and wrote Don't you wish it was true

I tried to write a song with that guitar just three times and I came away with those three tunes. It's like a Genie in a bottle. I've never had such a strong batting average with just one guitar”. (laughs)
