18 yr old Singer/Songwriter Tori Darke of Mt. Annan took another step forward in achieving her dream when she was announced the Overall Winner of the Toyota Muster “Maton Talent Search” held last weekend in the Amamoor State Forest near Gympie.

Part of the Muster prize pool included a return trip to Canada to represent Australia at the Merritt Mountain Country Music Festival in July 2009. $3,000 spending money, a custom designed hand crafted Maton Guitar valued at over $2,000 and presented to her by both Ted & Mark from Maton, a scholarship to the CCMA Australian College of Country Music Tamworth in January 2009, an Akubra authentic quality hat plus appearances on Main Stage at the Toyota Gympie Muster next year, West Leagues Club and the Maton Showcase in Tamworth in 2009.

This was Tori’s second year attending the Gympie Muster hoping to gain further exposure with her dream to perform on Main Stage. Firstly to achieve this Tori had to compete against hundreds of entrants for a place in the semi finals of which only 9 contestants would be selected. Once gaining a place in the semi finals all 9 contestants then competed against each other to come to a selection of only 3 contestants to perform on main stage all anxious to become the Overall Winner.
